From October to January, the annual herring migration attracts many majestic whale species to the fjords of Skjervøy, a small fishing village in Northern Norway. Now you can be right there with them!

A RIB boat is a unique adventure. It combines the thrill of close wildlife encounters with the serene beauty of Norway’s fjords. This is an incredible experience to grab an unforgettable glimpse into the natural wonders of the Arctic.

  • Meeting time: 10 minutes before departure.

Meet your skipper, safety briefing, and preparing for your RIB boat adventure. Thermal suits and safety equipment will be provided.

Sail through the dramatic fjords in search of humpback whales, killer whales, fin whales and other Arctic wildlife species!

Warm up and refreshments

Return to shore for a hot drink and a light lunch.


What can I expect on the day?

On this tour, you will meet us in Skjervøy.

Your skipper will give you the necessary safety equipment and a briefing. Then you head out to sea for 3 hours, in an open RIB boat. The boat takes you through the stunning fjords of Northern Norway to search of wildlife and to capture unforgettable moments. Back on land, warm your hands around a hot drink and have lunch.

Please note: Our skipper will do their utmost to find whales and marine life during the trip. However, these are wild animals, therefore we cannot guarantee sightings!

Our focus is on ethical interaction with wildlife and animal welfare. We conduct our trips in line with our values. We will not disrupt natural behavior or disturb wild animals for tourism purposes. This includes chasing, blocking or forcing interactions.



What wildlife can I see?

The most common observations are humpback whales, killer whales and fin whales. It may be possible to spot porpoises, seals and even sperm whales. Skjervøy is also home to many different bird species, keep an eye out for sea eagles!
